Rob Broek is an aircraft owner in Alexandra, who is very involved with the Warbirds over Wanaka event.
As Rob owns a number of aircrafts and choppers, he needed a solution where he could store them all and future-proof them for a second life. Careful planning was required to consider his plan to hire out his aircraft or change his direction in future.

The solution was a 24m wide x 22m long clearspan building. This was built with a side height of 4.5m, which reach 6.185m at the apex.
The XL Structural team built a robust XLS RHS system with integrated firewalls and a hangar door. The hangar featured timber purlins and girts with the advantage of reducing noise from the weather. The hangar opening is 16.0m wide, with doors that slide on each side.
