Masterton, New Zealand
31m x 66m area for the plant and processing. Plus a 10m x 24m loading and storage lean-to on one side. Side height of 6.6m up to 7.925m at the apex.
Timber processing plant
This building was specially designed to cover a new timber treatment plant. Due to the nature of the processing, there was a custom-designed floor and foundations so that chemicals were contained in bunds. It also required an open side for ventilation, as well as bird-proof rafters and purlins.
Kiwi Lumber is a privately owned New Zealand company operating four modern sawmills located in the North Island of New Zealand. The four mills located at Putaruru, Gisborne, Dannevirke, and Masterton have a combined production of 250,000 m3 of sawn timber output per annum.
With production wholesaled through New Zealand as well as a range of export markets that include North America, Europe, Australia, Asia and the Pacific Islands, Kiwi Lumber Masterton needed new storage buildings to keep up with their high level of output.
