RHS STRUCTURAL STEEL PORTALS

The impressive portals are made out of a rectangular hollow section (RHS Structural Steel). The RHS section is clean and compact giving maximum clearance & space inside your building. Because of the size and wall thickness of the RHS, the portals perform exceptionally well under lateral loads.

Clear, Tidy & Birdproof

All the purlins and girts (steel or timber options) are bolted between the rafters and columns. This gives you maximum interior width and height, while preventing birds from nesting and perching on top of the rafters. We can also design the building with boxed in purlins rather than an open 'c' section which birds can perch inside.

UB STRUCTURAL STEEL COLUMNS

Any columns that are not made with RHS are built from UB Structural Steel. Like an RHS, UB Structural steel will stand up to knocks from machines much better than rolled steel, giving you peace of mind and long term durability.

Fast Installation

The XL Structural Steel system is extremely fast to install on site. All the cleats for the purlins and girts are pre-welded on, so the whole shed simply bolts together. We will supply full 3 dimension site drawings to streamline the install process.

BOLTED CONNECTIONS

All rafter and purlin connections are bolted or welded during fabrication. This gives you connections that are much stronger than using tek screws and pressed steel brackets.

Steel Coatings

XL Structural Steel offers 3 coating options - hot-dip galvanised, hot zinc spray and paint depending on location and budget.

NO KNEE OR APEX BRACES

The XL Structural Steel system has no need for large obtrusive apex or knee braces inside the shed. This gives you maximum head and side room inside the shed – reducing the chance of structural damage from moving machinery.
